The median household income in 2009 inflation adjusted dollars was $23,073 as compared to that of the U. S. A. being $ 51,425. The ratio of per capita income at $ 12,029 to $ 27,041 of the U. S. A. was better progression as the figures in 1999 were $9803 and $21,587 respectively. The data collected by the American Community Survey also shows that 36.8 per cent of the families in this area live below poverty level as compared to that of the U. S. A. being 9.9 per cent.
